PHIL MORRIS - OWNER/PERSONAL TRAINER
Phil is a native of England and founded the Fitness Group in 1983. He is a 1982 graduate of Syracuse University with a Master of Science degree in Exercise Science. Phil is also certified as an exercise test technologist by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and has spent over 25 years in the health and fitness field both as an athlete and consultant. He believes that achieving wellness should be a pleasant, rewarding experience where the journey is more important than the destination.
AMY CARLTON, LINDA BREHN, SUE BARRON - SPIN/FITNESS INSTRUCTORS
Amy has been in the fitness field for over 20 years. She has a BS in Sports Management from UMass Amherst and worked for years as a fitness trainer and group exercise instructor. Amy is an ACE Certified Fitness Instructor, Johnny G Certified Spin Instructor, YogaFit and FRA Certified Yoga Instructor. She is running our Spin Program
CHRIS CHIAPELLA - INDOOR CYCLING INSTRUCTOR
Chris is a United States Cycling Association Level 2 Certified Coach. He has been actively riding and racing his bicycle for more than 30 years. He rides with many local groups, including the Monsters Cycling Club, the Northeast Bicycle Club, and the ATA Triathlon Club. Chris is an experienced instructor, and a trainer dedicated to the success of anyone he works with. His classes are designed to be both challenging and fun for all participants, regardless of their cycling experience.
ALEX PAPANSATASSIOU - INTERN
Alex is enrolled in the Kinesiology program at the University of Connecticut, majoring in Exercise Science and minoring in Nutrition. He is an avid runner, and has completed the Hartford Marathon as well as a 50-mile ultra run. He is interning at The Fitness Group to gain experience in his field (and loving it!).

LAURIE PEGRUM - TRAINER
For the last five years Laurie has been a group exercise instructor working with weights and step, coaching and advising both newbies to exercise and the diehards. To further his exercise knowledge he holds current qualifications as a Personal Trainer with ACE fitness, and in 2011 he qualified for the ACE Exercise for Special Populations course.
